1. Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how MoonAstro (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, shares and protects your personal data when you use www.moonastro.com and our services. It is written in line with the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. By using the Site you consent to the processing described here.
2. Information We Collect
- Account details – your name, username, email address, mobile number and password (stored only in encrypted/hashed form). If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and Google account ID.
- Birth details – name, gender, date, time and place of birth (with latitude and longitude) that you enter in our forms or save in your profile, used to calculate your horoscope and reports.
- Order details – billing and delivery address, phone number and the products or services ordered. Payment card and bank details are entered directly with our payment partner and are never stored by us.
- Communications – messages you send through our contact, feedback or comment forms, by email or WhatsApp.
- Technical data – IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, date and time of visit and referring pages, collected in server log files and through cookies.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account and let you sign in, including by a code sent on WhatsApp.
- To calculate horoscopes, predictions and reports and to pre-fill forms with your saved birth details.
- To process, deliver and support your orders, consultations and refunds.
- To reply to your questions, feedback and complaints.
- To maintain, secure and improve the Site, analyse usage trends and prevent fraud or misuse.
- To show advertisements, as described in section 5.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal data.
4. Sharing With Others
We share personal data only where necessary, with:
- Payment partner (Paytm) – to process payments securely;
- Courier and postal services – to deliver physical products;
- WhatsApp (Meta) and email providers – to send login codes, order updates and reports;
- Google – for Google sign-in, analytics and advertising (see section 5);
- Our astrologers – the birth details and questions needed to prepare a consultation you have ordered;
- Authorities – where required by law, court order or to protect the rights and safety of MoonAstro, our users or others.
5. Cookies and Advertising
We use cookies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences and understand how the Site is used. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) to serve advertisements on the Site based on your visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings or www.aboutads.info. Third-party advertisers may also use cookies and web beacons; their use is governed by their own privacy policies, over which we have no control. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but some features of the Site may then not work.
6. How Long We Keep Your Information
We keep your account and saved birth details for as long as your account is active. Order and invoice records are kept for as long as required by tax and accounting laws. Log files are kept for a limited period for security and analysis. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational security measures – including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords and restricted access – to protect your personal data. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security; please keep your password confidential.
8. Your Rights and Choices
You can view and update your account and saved birth details at any time from your profile. You may also ask us to give you a summary of the personal data we hold about you, correct or complete it, delete your account and data, or withdraw your consent, by writing to [email protected]. Withdrawing consent may mean we can no longer provide some services. You also have the right to nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf in the event of death or incapacity.
9. Children
Our services are intended for users aged 18 and over. Birth details of a child may be entered only by a parent or legal guardian. If you believe a child has given us personal data without such consent, please contact us and we will delete it.
